Management
Mr.
Merrick has extensive experience and involvement with foundation
management, charitable organizations, and the grant-making and
grant-receiving community. He has served as the Director and Vice
President of The Merrick Foundation since 1980. The family foundation
has current assets of $14 million.
Foundation
Management, Inc. (FMI) was formed in October of 2000. It is an
administrative and accounting firm that serves private foundations,
charitable trusts, and a statewide community foundation, known as
Communities Foundation of Oklahoma. FMI assists clients in developing
investment policies, hiring and reviewing asset managers, reviewing
grant proposals and making recommendations of funding opportunities,
the handling of all meeting arrangements, government regulations and
filings, as well as maintaining minute books and all accounting records.
Additionally,
Mr. Merrick is the President of Ward S. Merrick, Inc., and manages all
aspects of a family business in oil, gas, real estate and venture
capital investments.
Prior
to the founding Foundation Management, Inc., Mr. Merrick was Vice
President of Trust Sales for Bank of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City, and has
previously served as Vice President of Development for the Oklahoma
Medical Research Foundation in Oklahoma City.
His
professional affiliations include service on the boards of the Oklahoma
Independent Petroleum Association, Oklahoma Industrial Finance
Authority and the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Frank''s
civic and community involvement extends from local activities in
Ardmore and Oklahoma City to statewide organizations and associations.
He is past president and a board member of Grantmakers of Oklahoma,
serves on the governing board of the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum,
and is the founder and chairman of Homeless Alliance in Oklahoma City.
A
graduate of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Frank holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He has also done
post-graduate work in business administration and has completed
numerous professional training seminars and workshops.
